Hi there,

I have had to reconsider my plans to do the marathon. In early September I strained the tendons in my foot and haven't been able to do enough running for the marathon. The most I have done is a couple of 30 minute runs on the tread mill at the gym before the pain starts.

I have had to concede defeat, and for this year i am going to transfer and do the Half Marathon.

I am still going to the gym 2 - 3 times a week, and doing the weights and cardio program

Just a few Facts
Each day 16 New Zealanders die as a result of coronary heart disease. That’s one person every 90 minutes. And many of these deaths are premature and preventable. (Just think of your family, friends and work colleagues. What would it be like if they started dying, one every 90 minutes.)

Cardiovascular disease (heart, stroke & blood vessel disease) is the single leading cause of death in New Zealand. It causes 40 percent of all deaths annually in our country - making it more deadly than all forms of cancer. (That’s scary)

But the good news is that many risk factors for heart disease are preventable, if people make healthy lifestyle choices.

So, help me as I join the race to beat heart disease.
