There are some who will remember me as a fit young person, but many will who only know the 80kg (that's over 13 stone to you imperialists) person I was 12 months ago.

My heart, not to mention those poor creaky knees, is happy that I have lost some weight & am now fully committed to this years Auckland Half Marathon.

I am looking forward to running over the Harbour Bridge. Dreading being passed by all those people twice my age, but hope that there will be just as many I pass who are half my age.

I’ll do all the hard work (train for and complete the event), but I really need you to make a difference to the hearts of New Zealanders.
