Hi I’m Corin Dann co-host of the Breakfast show on TVNZ.

I’m 36 years old and live in Auckland with my wife Lotta and three children, Axel 7, Kaspar 5, and Jakob 22 months.

When I’m not thinking about work and family I’m usually either playing guitar, listening to music, reading or watching rugby. Sometimes all at the same time.

I’m a fan of all kinds of music, ranging from metal through to folk. A favourite album would be Electric Ladyland by Jimi Hendrix.

I also enjoy reading novels and long form journalism when I can. If I had to pick a favourite book I’d say All the Kings Men, by Robert Penn Warren.

I’m a huge sports fan, but don’t play any competitive sports at the moment. I used to play rugby cricket etc

I do however run.

Running has been a part of my routine for the past 12 years or so and I don’t like to go a week without either a run or some form of exercise.

I find this is not only vital for my overall health, but also my stress levels and general mental wellbeing. I always feel better about the world after exercising.

However it’s been a while since I have competed in a half marathon. I have done three I think.

I’m really looking forward to running the Auckland half marathon to see if I can still do it in a reasonable time.

I’ll be aiming for something around 1hour and 45 mins. Whether I can achieve remains to be seen. The training has started though.

If I can complete it in a good time and get through the training injury free I might also use it as a spring board to do a full marathon early next year. It’s always been a goal of mine to do the full event.
