I did it!

I did it! See my blog at the side for details. I have done a bit of damage to my already sore left shin so I wont be able to train at all for a few weeks. Resting up now with a swollen leg from foot to knee is boring! Doctor says I'm okay, not broken but lots of fluid in swollen areas of leg and painful too.
Worth it I reckon so please donate to heart foundation..I did all the hard work. You have the easier part.

Hi to my friends and family. Yes, I know..I am Crazy!..This year I have signed up to walk the adidas Auckland Marathon - Half Marathon..That's 21.2Km. Yes, you read it right. 21.2Km! I have so many excuses not to do this: My knees hurt, my legs hurt. It takes so long! It could take me around 3 1/2 hours although I hope to do it faster.

Why am I doing this? Because I can!!!
I am so thankful to God for the health and strength He has given me, especially considering that I have twice been hospitalised with heart pain and am now on medication.


Some facts:
Each day 16 New Zealanders die as a result of coronary heart disease. That’s one person every 90 minutes. And many of these deaths are premature and preventable.

Much of this is due to unhealthy lifestyles - poor eating habits, lack of physical activity and being a smoker. But the good news is that many risk factors for heart disease are preventable, if people make healthy lifestyle choices.

So, help me as I join the race to beat heart disease.
