Hi and thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
My name is Heather Robinson and I am 19 years old. To tell you the truth I had never even heard of heart racer until a week ago when someone from the National Heart Foundation came to speak at one of my lectures. I thought it was a fabulous idea to fundraise for such a worthy cause whilst doing something so rewarding and challenging.
Heart disease has never directly affected me but I have seen and heard about its tragic effects on other families. I am currently studying bach of sport and rec at AUT and learn about how heart disease can be prevented to a certain degree. I would love to help and raise heaps of money for this worthy cause to help with research and anythin else they may need.
My passion is all about education of healthier lifestyle choices. I feel that with increased awareness of heart disease and ways in which we can decrease the risk with healthy eating and exercise we can educate families to live a healthier lifestyle and live a more fulfilling life.
I promise that I will train and put in the hard yards to get me into shape.

So please everyone, help me to raise money to give to the National Heart Foundation as this is something that does or could affect YOU, if not now sumtime in your life. Pass it on to everyone you know. Otherwise to you poor student friends of mine why not join me in the half marathon and become a heart racer yourself.
To donate select the "Make a donation" button below. It’s simple, fast and totally secure and the money goes directly to the Heart Foundation’s bank account.

If you live in New Zealand your donation is tax deductible and a receipt will be issued.

Many thanks for your support!!!
Heather
ps. For those of you who wud like to know more about heart disease i will leave the facts in below.

"Each day 16 New Zealanders die as a result of coronary heart disease. That’s one person every 90 minutes. And many of these deaths are premature and preventable.

Cardiovascular disease (heart, stroke & blood vessel disease) is the single leading cause of death in New Zealand. It causes 40 percent of all deaths annually in our country - making it more deadly than all forms of cancer.

The nature of who is affected by it is changing. New research shows that young adults in their 20s and 30s are being admitted to hospital for heart attacks than ever before, and that this age group is dying at a faster rate than people of the same age in previous generations. Much of this change is due to unhealthy lifestyles - poor eating habits, lack of physical activity and being a smoker.
But the good news is that many risk factors for heart disease are preventable, if people make healthy lifestyle choices."
