Funding research into heart disease is an issue very close to my heart (pardon the pun) as my mother survived a big heart attack (and several smaller ones since) in her mid 40's, and a stroke in her late 50's. Her history could be my future… could it be yours too?

Each day 16 New Zealanders die as a result of coronary heart disease. Increasingly these are people in their 20's and 30's.

Cardiovascular disease is more deadly than all forms of cancer, and causes 40 percent of all deaths annually in our country.

So please help me as I join the race to beat heart disease.
