Yep, it is possible that I have gone insane, and yes, it is true, I have signed up for a half marathon!

As many of you reading this will know, just under 2 years ago, my Dad died suddenly from a heart attack. The reality is that nothing will bring him back, but he was fond of saying, "There's no point sitting around and moping." I have to admit that over the past couple of years, I have done more than my fair share of moping. However, a few months ago, I decided I wanted to do something positive in memory of my Dad, and supporting the Heart Foundation seemed a logical way to do it. So I have been braving the delightful Munich winter weather to get out there and train for this half-marathon.

Each day 16 New Zealanders die as a result of coronary heart disease. That's one person every 90 minutes. Cardiovascular disease (heart, stroke & blood vessel disease) is the single leading cause of death in New Zealand. It causes 40 percent of all deaths annually in New Zealand.

I've signed up as a Heart Racer to raise money to support the Heart Foundation. By donating through my webpage you will be helping the Heart Foundation continue its vital work in research, cardiac rehabilitation, education programmes and resources.

I'll do all the hard work (train for and complete the event), but I really need your help to make a difference.
I won't be breaking any records (Except for perhaps the slowest 21km ever!)but any donation you can make will help to keep me going through those last few kilometres.
