To all my friends and family…

Thank you for supporting my run in the Round the Bays 7km run!!!

As you all know I am a keen gymmy, but definately NOT a runner. I would much rather work out in the gym for 2 hours than go for a simple pleasant run!

Since turning 30, I have started to write a list of things I want to do before I am 40 and this is just one of many things I want to conquer!

Watch my blog as I update my training regime…my aim is just to finish the run without stopping!!!

Cardiovascular disease (heart, stroke & blood vessel disease) is the single leading cause of death in New Zealand. It causes 40 percent of all deaths annually in our country - making it more deadly than all forms of cancer.

But the good news is that many risk factors for heart disease are preventable, if people make healthy lifestyle choices.

So, help me as I join the race to beat heart disease.

I've signed up as a Heart Racer in memory of Napier Tech Rugby's one and only Rob Guilford and to raise money to support the Heart Foundation. By donating through my webpage you will be helping the Heart Foundation continue its vital work in research, cardiac rehabilitation, education programmes and resources.

I'll do all the hard work (train for and complete the event), but I really need you to make a difference to the hearts of New Zealanders.
