Each day 16 New Zealanders die as a result of coronary heart disease. That's one person every 90 minutes. And many of these deaths are premature and preventable.

This statement is scarey. It really makes you realise how reliant we are on that small fist sized piece of muscle.

So, help us as we join the race to beat heart disease.

A number of the staff are competing in the half marathon. Some are running, some are walking. Regardless, 21 km is a long way!

Perhaps the most daunting thing for us all though, is having to be at Devonport for the start at 6.30am!!!

We've signed up as Heart Racers to raise money to support The National Heart Foundation of New Zealand.

We'll do all the hard work (train for and complete the event), but we really need you to make a difference to the hearts of New Zealanders.
