Hi All,

Heart Disease is something that is very close to my own heart.

When i was 9 years old i was diagnosed with aortic regurgatation which i have had since birth. Although it is a heart problem that is not caused by anything but genetics, it still makes me realise how important it is to look after your self.

In 2006 i had aortic valve repair surgery which is open heart and i was only 20 years old. To me now it doesn't seem like it was a big deal but at the end of the day any heart surgery is major and to help the Heart Foundation raise money so that other's do not have to undergo surgery is something that I would love to help out with.

5 years ago before my surgery i would never have dreamed about running a marathon but this year I will prove to myself that anything is acheivable if you put your mind to it and to also show others that just because you have heart surgery you can still live a life just like everybody else.
