26/10/2012 Achilles has been alot better the last few days. I went to O'Hagans 5km race on Tuesday night and did a 17:53 22 seconds off my PB there. So I am pleased about that. Had some 400's arounf the track again and they went well. So I am ready as I can be with all that has happened with my achilles. I just hope my endurance doesn't fail me in the last half of the marathon. But I am very excited to be running!
18/10/2012 Have not had much to say since I haven't been running much. Achilles is SLOWLY getting better. Some days it is good some days not so good. Today it was good and did some speed work at Mt Smart. Did 3 laps with James and Adam at 3:20 pace. I was surprised I could keep up with all this rest lately. It gave me a little bit of confidence for next week.
23/9/2012 Have had the week off running this week. Achilles is feeling alot better. Not 100% but better. Have just been doing crossfit and some "homefit" with some rowing and biking to try and keep fit. Hopefully I will start running tomorrow and my achilles will be sweet
16/9/2012 I should be in Sydney at the moment just a little bit into the start of the marathon. But on Fridays tester run it didn't go as well as I would have liked. I could of ran the marathon if my achilles stayed like it did on Fridays run(it was a little bit uncomfortable) and didn't get any worse. But if it did get worse I could be off running a further 3 weeks or so and then Auckland Marathon will be here. So I decided not to go over. Very disappointing. Hopefully it wont take much longer and I can get right back into training.
11/9/2012 I am not going to run untill Friday to see if my Achilles can get better. Then have a "tester" run on Friday and hopefully there will be no pain. Not what I planned for. So I don't think I will do as well as I would like top now :( Been to Crossfitnz the last two days. Been very good.
10/9/2012 The Sydney Marathon is this Sunday. I am excited for it but I have had a few days off running because of my achilles. It still isn't right. It is slowing getting better. But it still is frustrating. I hope it is 100% by the weekend. I will still have a hollow feeling though because I have missed some good training.
10/9/2012 Last Sunday I raced in the last race of the Xterra trail series out at Hunua Ranges. It was a hard race. On the website it said it was a 9/10 on the toughness factor lol. I think it lived up to that. I was real slow going up the hills. I felt unfit. I know it was a week after the North Shore Half and I was sick during the week but I don't think that mattered that much. I think I will enter the whole series next year. It was hard but I think it will be good for me to do all the races.
Tuesday(4/09) after my run my left achilles felt abit sore. Then on Wednesday I only ran 400m and then turned around and ran back home because it wasn't right. On Thursday(6/09) I took the day off work to run with Victoria Taylor who is running the length of New Zealand to raise awareness for child cancer. I probably should have rested my achilles but I took the day off so I kind of had to. I ran with her for only under a hour near Kaiwaka. To danate to her cause the website is: http://www.fundraiseonline.co.nz/VictoriaTaylorNZRUN/
30/8/2012 The results for North Shore Half Marathon http://results.racetiming.co.nz/resultdetails.php?t=c&cid=312#Half%20Marathon
30/8/2012 I am back at Crossfitnz Tomorrow after missing 2 session since I was sick. Will be good to be back. I am racing the "Superlong" at the Hunua Xterra this Sunday too. Will be good training for the Sydney Marathon in just over 2 weeks.
30/8/2012 Haven't updated this for awhile. I ran the North Shore Half Marathon on Sunday the 26th of August. I was happy with how it went. I did it in 1:25:56 and came 10th. Then I became sick monday night. So had a few days off training. Which is very annoying! I had a hour run today which went better than thought after being sick.
12/8/2012 5 weeks untill Sydney Marathon! Had a 2 hour run around Cornwall Park, Mt St John and Mt Hobson after work today. It wasn't that great.
11/8/2012 Good run tonight. Felt good. Happy with the pace. 13.31km in 60 minutes.
9/8/2012 Less than 12 weeks to go now and less than 6 weeks till the Sydney Marathon. I am excited for the Sydney one. It looks good.
Last weeks training wasn't that good, my legs were still tired from Run Auckland from that Sunday and never recovered. Doing crossfit and the spin bike in my lounge didn't give them a break. But lastnights run they started to feel they had abit of grunt in them and tonights run wasn't to bad either. So training is going well at the moment.
30/7/2012 Did a long run today with Adam Mansour(speedy). 34.22km in Waitakere Ranges. Along scenic dr. I was happy with how my legs held up after the race yesterday and crossfit(sqauts) this morning. Was a good pace(surprising) the last 10km. Sore legs after.
30/7/2012 Had the last Run Auckland 10km yesterday. I was hoping for a fast time. But wasn't to be. The weather didn't help and the grass at the start/finish quickly turned into mud, which took alot out of my legs each lap. I finished 6th in a time of 38:53 but it was under 10km. So I wasn't that happy.
