Heartbeats

I am sure that most of our friends and family know the reason for us wanting to do this walk for the heart foundation but if not here's a wee refresher…

Nearly 3 years ago (Feb the 15th 2009), my family was just getting over the excitement of Amy & Matt’s engagement … Dad was having a few pains and had decided to leave Hanmer to head home to Christchurch, Mum and Dad set off and Dad was driving, his pain increased so Mum called Deb and Ian called the ambulance…

Dad had a massive heart attack and was very lucky to survive, it was sheer luck that the ambulance saw them at the petrol station in Culverden and came to the rescue. Within minutes of being in the ambulance Dad arrested.

He was the 1st and only person that they have successfully revived to this day! We watched our dad being driven over the road in the ambulance to the waiting Westpac helicopter…

It was the longest drive to Christchurch filled with phone calls and txt messages to the rest of our family!


WE KNOW HOW LUCKY WE ARE TO STILL HAVE HIM WITH US!
